Today started off way to early; Hold up! before I continue let me tell you about my clubbing experience; remember yesterday I said we were going clubbing, well basically we did and it wasn’t great, honestly there’s no clubbing experience like Lagos! That said the outfit I chose seemed to be a HIT! A guy called pascal has decided hes going to marry me because of it! Lol that’s all I can say! Slept at about 5 and had to wakeup before 7am, as we had to be at a UBA bonding event; at this point sleep was calling my name! somehow I found energy because we ended up joining the dancing competition and although no results were mentioned, I can say WE WON! I mean we had Aj the DANCER of LIFE! Headed back to the hotel; showered, packed and headed to Buea, the land of mount Cameroon; everyone was excited to climb the mountain, but I wasn’t sure; it was probably one of the most difficult things iv ever had to do in my life! I really don’t like walking up hills but the girls were so excited; I had to catch up, giving up was constantly on my mind; my heart was racing, I felt like I would passout BUT I actually pushed myself and made it to the waterfall with everyone. Proud moment, 1600 metres DEFEATED! We got back to the hotel, and Nabille decided to take us out for dinner, heaven sent kinda sturvz lol! Bistro Bar, the owner was super cute! His name is Eron 🙂 PS we don’t like this hotel in Buea either.
My entry yesterday was boring, wasn’t it? Blame the cramps. I’ll do better henceforth. Lol. Today was AMAZING! I haven’t been this awed in a long time. We started off early, I was glad to attend the UBA event because, you know, a girl’s gotta work out, and I haven’t really had the chance to so far, so yass! And then after that, Buea! We went 1600 feet up the mountain, and it really wasn’t as tasking as I thought it’d be… Could it be that I’m a fit girl? Lol. But really, God is an amazing artist. Mountains, an endless waterfall up there, all that green… I actually cried a little. Anyway, this hotel we’re staying at tonight is trying to ruin my beautiful day, but it’s one night, yeah? I’ll live. The faster I sleep, the better. Plus I’m even exhausted, so goodnight!
Clubbing in Cameroon is really weird. These people don’t go in till 2 am and party till 10 am, 10 AM??!! How does that even work. Anyways, that was Nabil’s excuse for coming by 3am and by then I was ready to go home. The girls and I need to be up by 6:30 am for a UBA event and I feel like I’m the only one who wants to go get some shuteye. “Let us go home ooo, it have do”. I could have sworn I closed my eyes for a minute when Fointama called in to say it was time to leave. Did I mention he was in the club with us and was dancing all night? I don’t think he’s human. We spent a few hours at the event and in that time we met UBA staff, took part in a dancing competition (well, I cheered from the sidelines) and Ajifa and I reminisced about secondary school days because of how similar the stadium we were at reminded us about ours. Left the event early because we were leaving Doula. We start our 2-hour road trip and as we approach Buea, I see the mountains, oh so beautiful. I don’t care if I don’t do anything else, I must go on that mountain…and we did!!!! Hands down the best experience so far, we went 1600 feet up Mount Cameroon and finally stopped at a waterfall. It was a great work out, the tour guide Mr. John was awesome and I got so many beautiful pictures. The girls and I met up with Nabil at a restaurant after and we also meet the owner, Eron. Taje doesn’t want to admit it yet but I think she likes him *wink*
The one thing a person doesn’t want after a full night of clubbing is to wake up at 7am!!! Clubbing last night was massive trips by the way as we found Taje a husband, I got hit on by a married man who was at the club with his side chick (talk about a real African), got mistaken for lesbians Amiola and I simply because we went to the bathroom together *Rolling my eyes* and met Nabil the super star celeb all in one night! Phew! Eventful you say? Very! Now back to today 7AM….I thought these guys were jokers…I literally slept 2 seconds ago and now we are awake and going for sporting activities? Oh well…NO choice…seeing as we were invited by the UBA CEO who was so nice to us. Now we get there and its pretty cool…a lot of sports happening and the best part was that the refreshments were bananas and water o tan! I trust Nigerians if there is no jollof rice after such activities ko le werk! It was all gravy as Seyitan and I had some time to reminisce on high school memeories until these ridiculous girls signed us up for a freaking dance competition!! I eventually caved and it was a real battle; these Cameroon Women weren’t playing but we won (well in my opinion at least)!!! Back to the hotel, all showered and ready we head to Buea; which is apparently such a beautiful place to drive to but hey I wouldn’t know now because I dozed all the way. We climbed mount Cameroon all the way to the top and once again I was reminded of how awesome God is…Beauty really does exist in our Africa and I feel blessed to be on this journey of discovery…I just hope that you can see the beauty as well through my eyes. Off to bed now tomorrow is another day! Kisses.
